Richie Mercado |
Richie is The Chimes Original 2nd tenor and now sings 1st and 2nd tenor. His voice cannot be compared to any other. His love and passion for music is portrayed in the sultry sound of his voice. We are honored, humbled and complete to have Richie with us again. |
Pat De Prisco |
Pat was born in Brooklyn, NY and while growing up he had such a love and interest in music. At the age of 15 he developed a strong interest in jazz music. During his high school years he met a young man named Anthony Gourdine in his history class. Anthony, at the time; was singing with a group called The Duponts, which later became know as "Little Anthony and The Imperials". In 1957, Pat met Lenny at a luncheonette in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. They both were interested in singing and so The Chimes began. The following year they met Pat McGuire, Joe Croce and Richie Mercado. They started rehearsing songs done by The Mills Brothers, The Ink Spots, The Modenaires and other popular groups. In 1962 they lost Pat McGuire due to a hit and run accident. They later met John Riccoboni in 1964. The Chimes will always miss and remember their late friends Pat McGuire and Joe Croce. The Original Chimes were reunited earlier in 2008. Next year (2009) they will be celebrating their 50th anniversary. They are all very, very proud of this milestone in their lives. "The Original Chimes sound is still there". |
John Riccoboni |
Early in 1964, John was 22 years old and an old friend introduced him to Richie Mercado. Soon after John was at Richie's apartment trying out for The Chimes. Once ready they were signed to a recording contract with Metro International and released an A-side record, "Whose Heart Are You Breaking Now" the B-side was "My Baby's Coming Home". This was John's first professional recording contract. Their next recording was with Vee Jay Records, "Times Two I Love You" and "Only Forever". April 30, 2008, over 40 years later, Lenny, Richie, John and Pat reunited. It was as if time stood still and they went back to the future. They sounded very much the same Now as they did Then. |
